Encon Doubles Mental Health First Aiders in the Workplace

With our continued focus and commitment to supporting positive mental health in the workplace, we recently doubled our team of qualified Mental Health First Aiders from 10 to 21.
Encon's Mental Health First Aiders in training

Our 11 new Mental Health First Aiders attended a training course at The Encon Academy in Chorley, delivered by Stress Matters and accredited by MHFA England.

The course covered key skills such as recognising when people need to talk, encouraging people to seek help through recognised resources, active listening and empathy, and promoting positive conversations around mental health.

This investment represents our ongoing commitment to mental health and wellbeing by ensuring all employees have access to mental health support across our network of branches and at Head Office.

Deborah Gore, HSEQ & HR Director, comments: “We are delighted to expand our group of Mental Health First Aiders, ensuring our teams across the business have access to the support they need, when they need it the most. As an ‘Employer of Choice’ it’s important our people know there is someone they can reach out to, and for our qualified aiders to feel confident they can help our teams with the right advice and reassurance. A huge well done to all those who successfully passed the training - we are extremely proud of their achievement and of the employee support we can provide.”
