Held on Wednesday 2nd July at Encon & Nevill Long North West in Chorley, one of our specialist fire protection centres, the Showcase invited the region’s key industry stakeholders to share insights and expertise on fire safety. Attendees included passive fire protection manufacturers, specialist contractors, main contractors, and the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP).
Building on our inaugural Burning Wisdom Fire Protection Showcase at our East London branch in June 2024, the event aimed to build knowledge and competence among attendees through valuable seminars delivered by guest speakers.
Seminars focused on pertinent topics in Passive Fire Protection, with the ASFP delivering important updates and guidance relating to The Building Safety Act, the Gateway process and competency. Laing O’Rourke detailed the challenges and expectations for sub-contractors at the design phase of projects through to procurement, while Promat’s seminar focused on how the fire testing and certification landscape is changing. Encon’s Business Development Director for Fire Protection, Neville White, concluded the seminar sessions with a presentation on Encon’s journey as a specialist distributor and the important role of distribution in the passive fire protection supply chain.
The Supplier Showcase included displays from leading Passive Fire Protection manufacturers Promat, Rockwool, PFC Corofil, British Gypsum, Dupont, Fermacell, Firefly, Kemwell PFP, Knauf Insulation, Siderise and Visqueen, allowing attendees to network and benefit from their respective areas of expertise.
