Encon debates crunch-time issues and industry trends in the 4th BMBI Round Table

The BMBI's leading industry experts gathered to debate key issues affecting the industry at the forth annual BMBI Round Table Debate.
BMBI Fourth Roundtable Debate December 2019

Mike Beard, our Merchant Development Director and BMBI Expert recently took part in the BMBI Fourth Round Table Debate of 2019, hosted at Geberit HQ in Warwick.

Chaired by Jennie Ward (on behalf of Builders’ Merchant News), BMBI’s leading industry experts debated key issues affecting the building industry and its suppliers.

Five main topics were covered in the debate:

  1. The climate change agenda & environmental legislation
  2. Economic confidence & Politics!
  3. Changes in buyer behaviour and how we sell
  4. Changing Regulations, changing building practices, changing priorities
  5. Merchants and distribution - where next?

The experts speak exclusively for their markets, adding perspective and context to the data. Mike Beard, BMBI expert for insulation products – distribution explained the trends, issues and opportunities merchants faced over the last quarter of 2019.

The debate will be reported on in the January, February and March issues of BMN, the debate was also videoed in full and each topic will be uploaded onto the BMBI website from February 2020.
