We Support the Green Homes Grant Scheme

The Green Homes Grant scheme is now live, giving households the chance to make their homes energy efficient and save money, whilst also providing more work potential for installers.
Installers To Get Trustmark Registered To Gain More Work Through The Green Homes Grant Scheme

So, what is the scheme?

The Green Homes Grant scheme allows homeowners and residential landlords to apply for a voucher towards the cost of installing energy efficient improvements to their home. This is for England only.

Vouchers will cover two-thirds of the cost of eligible improvements, up to a maximum government contribution of £5,000 or £10,000 if the household is on low income.

The scheme was originally scheduled to finish on the 31st March 2021. However, the Government has now announced that homeowners across England will have until the end of March 2022 to have energy efficiency upgrades to their homes completed.

What measures does the vouchers cover?

The available measures are split into ‘primary’ and ‘secondary’ measures.

Primary measures

The voucher must be used to install at least 1 primary measure which includes:

Secondary measures

If at least 1 primary measure is installed, the voucher can be used to help cover the cost of any of the following secondary measures. However, the amount towards the cost of secondary measures cannot exceed the amount for primary measures.

  • Windows and doors
  • Heating controls and insulation

Costs that are covered by the voucher include labour, materials and VAT. Additional works will be covered by the voucher if they are necessary for the installation of measures.

How do I become an installer, and am I eligible?

Only TrustMark-registered businesses can register to be a Green Homes Grant installer to give householders quality assurance.

To carry out work under the scheme, all tradespeople and businesses will need to be certified to install energy efficiency measures and register to take part in the scheme.

So if you are an installer and want to grow your business then why not register yourself today or find out more information about how the scheme works.
