The Isover U Protect system is certified to deliver up to two hours of passive fire protection for HVAC mechanical ventilation and smoke extract ducts. It has been tested in accordance with EN 1366-1 and EN 1366-8 and assessed against the criteria in EAD 350142-00-1106 under ETA 18/0691.
For rectangular ductwork, the Isover U Protect Slab 4.0 Alu1 is manufactured from Ultimate mineral wool and supplied in 1200 × 600 mm slabs. Ultimate mineral wool provides conventional thermal insulation and also achieves a Euroclass A1 fire classification. The fire resistance is dependent on the application, insulation thickness, and installation method.
