Association of Brickwork Contractors (AofBC)

The AofBC represents the interests of the largest specialist brickwork contractors across the UK, with a particular focus on maintaining the influence of bricklayers at the heart of the design and build stages of construction.

The AofBC works to further sector standards in health and safety, regulations, training and quality assurance.

Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP)

The ASFP is the leading trade association for the passive fire protection sector, bringing together manufacturers, contractors, specifiers, distributors and other industry stakeholders to offer support, share knowledge and develop competency around passive fire protection.

Regular training, events and technical guidance is available to members to help collectively raise fire safety standards in the industry.

Builders Merchants Federation (BMF)

The BMF represents the building materials distribution sector, communicating with a wider audience about the topics and issues that matter to merchants and suppliers. With an aim to build excellence in materials supply, the BMF is the only organisation protecting the interests of plumbing, heating, roofing, decorative and timber merchants, and their suppliers. 

Available only to members, the BMF Information Centre contains useful resources such as market data, business guides and the BMF blog.

BMF Building Materials Careers Programme

We are proud to support the Building Materials Careers programme, a dynamic initiative that promotes the many exciting and diverse career opportunities in the Building Materials sector. The campaign aims to tackle the skills gap in our industry, with a wide range of employment opportunities available in our business at various levels, departments, teams and locations, including apprenticeships.

Finishes & Interiors Sector (FIS)

With a membership comprising main contractors, specialist contractors, manufacturers and distributors, the FIS represents the complete supply chain for interior fit-out and finishes. Some resources in the Knowledge Hub are open to all, while some are for members only as part of developing the skills and technical competence of the sector. 

National Association of Shopfitters and Interior Contractors (NAS)

The NAS is a trusted professional representative body for shopfitters and fit-out and interior contractors, supporting their members for over 100 years. Their mission is to promote, develop and support members to apply and improve best practice when shopfitting.

Structural Timber Association (STA)

The structural timber sector encompasses manufacturers and suppliers of the building envelope, as well as main contractors. The STA focus on expert technical guidance and research to drive innovation and quality in product design and building construction. It is a united voice for the sector, promoting the sustainable credentials of using timber, including as part of offsite solutions.

The comprehensive STA library includes many advice notes, technical bulletins and information papers that are open to all, and some that are for members only.

Thermal Insulation Contractors Association (TICA)

TICA has promoted training and best practice among contractors and apprentices in the industrial and commercial insulation sector since 1957. It strives to deliver a fully skilled workforce protecting the commercial insulation industry from unskilled labour through training, assessment and accreditation. TICA members benefit from a wealth of knowledge housed in their members’ area.
