If buildings are not adequately protected from ground gases, it can be present significant risks for the safety and integrity of the structure. Gas barriers are an important aspect of groundworking, preventing the infiltration of gases such as hydrocarbon vapours, methane and radon which can rise up into the building from the ground below.
