Branch Operations - Covid-19 Update - 31st March 2020

To support the Government’s advice and to help reduce the spread of Covid-19 we have taken the decision as a business to prioritise deliveries to those projects with critical needs.

We will now prioritise all orders and deliveries for projects and essential repair and maintenance that are deemed critical, these include:

  • NHS and care facilities
  • Schools
  • Infrastructure
  • Government and local authority buildings.

Our branches remain open and are working closely with our supply partners to provide materials required.

The health and wellbeing of our people and business partners remains our key priority and we would like to thank all our people working in our branches supporting these critical projects.

Please note that all trade counters are now closed, and collections are only available with prior notice. Please contact your local branch for any enquiries.

We thank you for your understanding and support at these uncertain times.

Please continue to stay safe.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement Update – 24th March 2020

Following the latest Government Covid-19 advice we remain open but are making some changes to the way in which we operate.

  • All branches will remain open, but we are increasing the number of people working from home.
  • All trade counter areas will be closed with immediate effect. However, we will still be able to fulfil collections but would ask that you call ahead for instructions.
  • We will continue to take orders and deliver as normal. This will however now be a contactless process and we will not be requiring a signature as Proof of Delivery.
  • We will continue to accept deliveries into our branches but would ask that all delivery drivers respect Government guidelines with regards to social distancing.

Our key priority remains the health and wellbeing of our people and those we work with.

Anyone who can work from home will do so where this can be accommodated.

We continue to stress that everyone within the Group continues to follow the Government guidelines on washing hands, social distancing etc.   The above measures will enable us to enhance our ability to do this.

For the time being all our branches and offices are open and we will continue to update you if anything changes.

Please continue to stay safe.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement – 18th March 2020

We are closely monitoring developments with respect to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and continue to monitor and review the situation on a daily basis following advice from the Department of Health and Social Care, Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO), World Health Organisation (WHO) and National Health Service (NHS).

Our key priority is the health and wellbeing of our people and business partners.  We are therefore taking steps to help protect everyone in the business and have implemented a steering group to ensure we have contingency plans in place should any of our locations be affected directly or indirectly.

More specifically:

  • We have issued a company wide briefing to ensure all our people are aware of their personal responsibilities to minimise risk. Further briefings are issued as and when required, and we keep our people up to date with any changes through our intranet portal
  • We have increased availability of cleaning supplies and all our locations/branches are equipped with hand sanitisers and washing stations
  • There will be no overseas travel for business purposes and all client and supplier meetings should be held remotely where possible
  • We are asking our clients and suppliers to work with us to replace face-to-face meetings with online video or telephone conferencing
  • We have ensured that our IT systems can support remote working in the event of incidents of self-isolation
  • Delivery drivers are being equipped with personal hygiene packs to use whilst on the move
  • Please note drivers may ask for alternative ways to confirm deliveries.

We are working closely with our supply partners to ensure continuity of goods in and stock availability.  We are pleased to report that we are not experiencing any disruption in our supply chain and therefore our ability to service the needs of our customers remains strong.

All of our branches and offices are open, and we are operating in a business as usual manner.

Please continue to stay safe.
