Our work in the community

Supporting DIY SOS.

DIY SOS: The Big Build is the BBC’s flagship home rennovation programme which enlists the help of local tradesmen, suppliers and the larger community to help transform the homes and lives of deserving families.

Our nationwide branches are proud supporters of DIY SOS, donating and delivering construction materials to Big Builds across the UK.

We also regularly support two charities.

Bounce Back is an organisation focused on the training and employment of ex-offenders, providing them with skills and opportunities at the end of their sentences, and helping them re-engage with the community. Along with supply chain partners Lendlease, Be Onsite and Land Securities, we are a proud supporter of Bounce Back and have played a key role in helping the charity fund and establish a dedicated drylining training centre at HMP Brixton.

As a leading independent distributor of interior fit out products and systems, our Nevill Long team have been able to provide a variety of products from Knauf, storing them at our East London branch and delivering them to the prison when required.

Rainy Day Trust is the UK’s only charity supporting the home improvement workforce and their families in times of need. We have been an official supporter of the Rainy Day Trust since 2015. For us, business isn't just about serving customers, we have a responsibility to serve the community as a whole too.

With around 1 million people eligible for help and the Rainy Day Trust experiencing a steady and disturbing increase in applications, we're proud to lend a helping hand when it's needed the most.

We also support various local football clubs around the country, helping young children put their best foot forward in a safe and fun environment. You can read about some of the clubs, their history and achievements in the news story below.

Our branch and head office teams regularly support local initiatives through sponsorship, fundraising and donations of money, skills and materials. Examples include donating materials to DIY SOS projects, sponsoring youth football teams and holding charity fundraising events.
