Energy Conservation

Since our inception in 1981, Encon has always had a firm focus on environmental issues, hence the name encon being derived from "energy conservation". In an industry where sustainability is a key factor in product choices and construction methodology, our heightened focus is consistently on continuous improvement in this important area.

Insulation Products

Insulation, our core product range, is of course by its very nature focussed on energy efficiency. Insulation is one of the easiest and yet most efficient methods of improving the environmental performance of a building. The articles further on in this section will tell you of each individual manufacturers environmental commitments, with many pushing the boundaries of product design in order to advance the sustainability of their products, something Encon wholeheartedly supports.

We also stock a wide range of products made from natural and renewable sources, such as Sheeps Wool, hemp and natural fibres. 

We constantly review and take active steps within our daily operations to ensure we mitigate our impact on the environment.

Recycling

Every branch is subject to a rigorous recycling policy, ensuring that all by-products, packaging and waste are disposed of in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Our aim is to reduce our landfill waste to zero.

Fleet Management

Our delivery vehicles are constantly monitored on fuel usage, maximising utilisation and effective routing to reduce our mpg. Our Operations Managers are given guidance in engaging the drivers in ways to improve driver behaviour and improving efficiency. We also continually work with our vehicle suppliers to evolve towards a cleaner and more efficient fleet.
