Encon Group launches new Training Academy

    22nd May 2013

The Encon Group yesterday unveiled a new training academy at our North West branch – the new home of the Encon Academy.

    What is the Encon Academy?

The Encon Academy has been around for a number of years in the form of Sales, Leadership and Operations Training.   Encon were one of the first companies in our industry to offer an academy approach and have invested over £100,000 in training our people.  Stuart Moore, Encon Group Chief Executive, is a passionate sponsor of the Academy and firmly believes in its importance to invest in our people and to build a sustainable company for the future.  We are proud of Encon Employees who have shown great loyalty over the years and who have continued to develop themselves to be the best in the industry.

The next generation of the Academy is an exciting phase where we will open up the learning opportunities in the ways we learn, the partnerships with industry experts to ensure the training quality is world class and also to widen the scope to include all learning and development through the company. The launch of our own in-house Training Centre will bring together the excellent Academy training offerings with an exciting creative place to learn.

    The Launch

Showcasing our own branded range of Longline Partitioning and state of the art interior design ideas, the new Academy build is the perfect place for creative thinking and encouraging achievement.  The build itself was fitted by Dan Cuzner Partitioning Ltd. and organised by Colin Hartley and Brad Horton (Encon and Nevill Long North West), all of whom played a key part in the Academy’s design and completion.

The launch of the new Encon Academy was yesterday unveiled by Stuart Moore.  Following this there was an introduction to training from Dale Carnegie, world renowned providers of training, for a selection of our Branch Directors.

Project Manager for the Encon Academy launch, HR Director Deborah Gore, had the following to say on the day; “We are really proud of the final result of all the hard work that has gone in to the development of our very own Encon Academy Training Centre here in Chorley.  The Academy is a key investment in developing our people to help them grow their career within the Encon Group. Our commitment is to providing added value and superior service to all our customers maintaining our position as the supplier, employer and customer of choice for people.”

The build encompasses five main areas, all featuring new and inventive design ideas, whilst remaining a functional and professional place to learn.

There is a training area located at the rear of the Academy, with seating for 16 attendees and state of the art projection capabilities – including Tektura WallTalkers covering on the projection wall – this really is an exciting place to learn.

There are two meeting rooms, both fitted with high quality office furniture, glazed using  our Longline Crystal partitioning system and encompassing curved walls that in the opinions of attendees are impressive and eye catching.  Manifested onto the Longline Crystal glazing is the Encon Group logo and two horizontal bands ensuring that privacy is assured when in meetings, whilst also being aesthetically pleasing.

A breathtaking feature wall incorporating a recess to house a 1.3m diameter backlit Encon Academy logo proved to be a major talking point, with attendees of the launch referring to the design work as “a big statement” and “fantastic”.

The eye-catching design work doesn’t stop here though.  There are six floor to ceiling glass fins, manifested with a woodland scene, which work not only as a divide between two break-out areas, but are also visually stunning and provided more “wow factor” to a build that has left attendees coming away with excitement and intrigue regarding repeat visits to the Encon Academy.

A 5m wide “Encon Tree”, featuring the Encon Group business unit colours, was another talking point of the day.  Representing organic growth and development, the tree encompasses everything that the Encon Academy stands for.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the companies that we have worked with us throughout the design and implementation of the Academy – Dan Cuzner Partitioning Ltd., European Glass Installation, Ultimate Office Interiors and GR Labels 4 Signs.

    Continuous improvement

The Encon Academy will be running a whole host of courses over the coming months for our staff, and we are sure that the quality of training coupled with an exciting and dynamic place to learn will only help improve our service to you, our customers.

Should you wish to book a tour of the Academy build or indeed use the venue for meetings or presentations please contact Colin Hartley (Business Development Director) to discuss further.

We hope you share our belief that this really is an exciting and impressive build and investment in our people.
